Adult ministry

FUMC offers a variety of opportunities for adults to grow in their faith and to serve others.  Our adults Sunday School classes offer not only fellowship but opportunities to grow in your faith through a wide-range of biblical studies.  We also offer more long-term in-depth Bible studies during the week.  At the heart of FUMC is our caring ministries that offer adults ways to serve by reaching out to others; you will want to be sure to explore all of these opportunities that include both local missions and international trips.  As an adult be prepared to turn your faith into actions here at FUMC!

  • Service

The heart of involvement and serving for adults is in our serving ministries.  These ministries include many areas from which to choose: the Samaritan Ministry, Friendship Meal, Garments of Grace, Our Daily Bread, Glass Slipper Project, Prayers and Squares Prayer Quilt Ministry, FUMC community garden, our ramp builders, international mission trips to Costa Rica, seasonal outreach of Thanksgiving food baskets, and Adopt an Angel.

Interested in knowing more? Then check out the "service" category at the top of our home page for a detailed description of each of these areas of service and how you can be involved!

  • SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School is for everyone - yes, adults! We have several classes to choose from, and each one has its own style of study and fellowship. We encourage you to visit all of them to choose the one that is just right for you.

OPEN BIBLE is a multi-generational adult Sunday School class, taught by Ellen Morris. The class enjoys studies on a variety of topics, all focused on opening the Bible together. The class meets in D-1, the third room off the Atrium.

THE "NO NAME" CLASS (Yes, that is what they call themselves) is a class that is made up of people who didn't really attend Sunday School until now. Taught by Greg Gibson, the class enjoys discussion and meets in D-2.

FLAME & CROSS/OPEN DOOR is an adult Sunday School class, taught by Kress Stuckey. The two classes have combined and as their names indicate, they enjoy studies focused on their Wesleyan roots and always have an open door for others to join them. Meeting in D-3, the can be found in the first classroom just off the Atrium.

  • BIBLE STUDY

We believe that a knowledge and understanding of the Bible is important for growing Christians.  That is why we like to offer Bible study in a variety of settings from long-term, in-depth studies to short term ones. Check back for coming Bible Studies for 2026.
