There are Many ways to Grow in Your Faith at FUMC
 
In addition to Sunday School there are many ways that adults can grow in their faith. A variety of Bible study opportunities are offered throughout the year.
 
Long-term Studies: The Disciple Series
 
FUMC has been offering Disciple Bible Studies ever since its introduction by Cokesbury. A Disciple study starts with Scripture and ends with community. The studies are both transformational as well as informational and include daily reading and study, weekly small-group meetings, and brief video presentations.
 
The following Disciple courses are offered on alternating years:
“Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” –34 week over-view of the
                                                                            entire Bible
“Into the Word-Into the World” – 32 week study of Genesis-Exodus and
                                                           Luke-Acts
“Remember Who You Are” – 32 week study of the Old Testament
                                                   Prophets and the Letters of Paul
Under the Tree of Life” – 32 week study of Old Testament Writings and
                                              Gospel of John, Epistles of John, James, and
                                              Jude, and Revelation
 
Special Long-term Studies
“Jesus in the Gospels” – 30 week study of Jesus as portrayed in the four
                                          Gospels
“Christian Believer” – 30 week study of the universal beliefs of the
                                        Christian church found in the major doctrines of the
                                        church and reflected by Christian writers
                                        throughout the ages
 
Short-term Disciple Studies now offered
Disciple is offered in shorter studies now that combine the in-depth of the longer studies in a shorter length of time. Courses that may be offered include “Invitation to the Old Testament,” “Invitation to the New Testament,” “Invitation to Genesis,” “Invitation to Romans,” and “Invitation to John.”
 
Short-term Study Groups
Koinonia Bible Study Fellowship is an open-group that meets for 6 – 8 weeks for Bible study on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the fall and in the spring. Watch for their next study opportunity.
 
A young women’s Bible study group meets on Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. during the school term to study together.
 
A variety of other short-term studies are offered throughout the year here at FUMC including book studies, topical studies, and seasonal studies at Advent and Lent.
